We provide soft adventures
What does “soft adventure” mean? It means that anyone can participate, and that we take very good care of you from when we collect you by the hotel until we bring you back. You get the possibility to participate in fantastic adventures without any rigorous planning in advance.
  • You need no previous skills. Our professional English speaking guides gives you safety instructions and all other information that you need to perform each excursion.
  • You need no special equipment or expensive clothing. We provide all gear and necessary outside clothing suited for each adventure.
  • Anyone can participate. You need only normal physical fitness. We easily adapt the adventures to suit for people of all ages, including families with children.

Landscape and climate
Thousand meter high mountains fall vertically into the deep fjords, giving the landscape a dramatic signature that you will not find any where else in Europe. Right behind the fjords the enormous Lapland tundra reach all the way to the depth of Russia. Summer brings endless days under the midnight sun while winter offers a chance to experience the polar nights and the magical northern lights - Aurora Borealis. Our adventure area is known for a very dry climate, which results in a high probability for midnight sun and northern lights sightings.

Magical contrasts between the seasons
Did you know that in our area you can not see the sun from middle of November until the end of January? In the middle of this period, the sun is below the horizon 24 hours, even at its peak. The dark period is a phenomenon that occurs only north of the northern Arctic Circle and south of the southern Arctic Circle. This does not mean that it is complete darkness. The short days holds a misty daylight, similar to the light you see for some time before sunrise. This misty light in combination with the dramatic white landscape gives a magical atmosphere.

The areas with dark time during the winter have a similar period of midnight sun in the summer, when the sun stays above the horizon 24 hours. The relatively short summer feels like on single, but amazingly long day. The extreme seasonal changes make the spring and autumn very short. In May it is still possible to go ice fishing by our wilderness camp a little above sea level. At the same time the grass is green by the fjord, only a 15 minutes drive away.

Our company and managers
Lyngsfjord Adventure has offered Arctic adventures since 2007, serving guests from all over the world. We are committed to providing our visitors with experiences of the highest quality, focusing on the authentic excursion in the Arctic wilderness. We do this by implementing a cultural and historical perspective in our services, like the Sami traditions. Our managers and guides are local, and have a lot of knowledge, skills and history that they take pride in sharing with our guests.
