Snowshoeing PDF Tisk Email

Mastering snowshoes requires no practice. Right from your first steps, you will experience that this invention makes moving around on snow a lot easier. Similar to skis, the snowshoes have a long history. This equipment or footwear probably traces back to an ancient walking tool that has developed in different directions, giving us both skis and snowshoes. While skis gives speed downhill, the snowshoes makes you float on top of any snow depth, that otherwise would make you struggle with snow up to your waist. The snowshoe’s floating ability also gives excellent help walking  up even the steepest hill. Using our wilderness camp (Camp Tamok) as a base, you will experience the use of snowshoes and venture into the white landscape. During the excursion, our guide will give you a lot of insight in the Arctic environment. The excursion also include a hot meal served in Camp Tamok, in the big lavvu (Sami herdsman’s tent). Enjoy the atmosphere at the camp, with reindeers and huskies.
